Abstract:
Designed to determine if measures of personality traits may be employed as accurate predictors of individual’s susceptibility to job burnout, and to explore whether or not stress coping instruction

may modify or reduce the burnout potential indicated by personality, this study can substantially advance theoretical understanding of the ways that measurable personality traits and behavioral dispositions may interact as predictors of burnout. By elaborating upon and expanding theoretical concepts established in prior research, it is anticipated that the results obtained will both clarify the current conceptual framework relevant to the burnout problem and suggest practical methods to improve the job placement and performance of military personnel.
