Proposed Grants $68,738

Abstract:
Psychological contracts are comprised of employees’ beliefs regarding the terms and conditions of the exchange agreement between themselves and their organization. As such, psychological contracts define what individuals expect to receive from their organization and what they perceive they

are obligated to provide to their organization in return. This research examines the role that psychological contracts play in the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel. Specifically, this research will examine how psychological contracts develop in the recruitment process and the extent to which psychological contract fulfillment impacts employees’ attitudes and behaviors during the initial year of employment.
